Surveys were sent via USPS with a postage paid envelope or the option to take the survey over the phone or online. Surveys were available in multiple languages. ETC Institute received 577 responses from Elgin residents that were demographically and geographically representative of the community. More information about the survey instrument, process and responses are available in the complete report.

The city wishes to thank those residents who took the time to provide honest feedback to city staff and the city council. The information gathered in the community survey and community input sessions will be used in the development of the city's upcoming budget and next strategic plan, set to be rolled out in January 2018.
