ealed bids will be received by the Purchasing Department, 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, Illinois until 11:00 A.M., local time, on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017 for the Pavement Marking Program (Bid Number 17-022).  At that time the bids will be publicly opened and read at the Purchasing Department in the City Hall located at 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, Illinois 60120.

The scope of work includes a base bid for the placement of paint pavement markings on various streets and intersections, and three (3) alternate bids consisting of school crosswalk related pavement markings, removal and replacement of reflective pavement markers, and grooved thermoplastic pavement markings in the City of Elgin as set forth in the bid documents.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a satisfactory contract bond to the City of Eglin by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Illinois covering the full amount of the contract. This project must comply with the City of Elgin’s Residency and Responsible Bidder’s Ordinances. The successful bidder shall pay prevailing wage and shall provide certified payrolls to the City for the duration of the project.
Special Requirements:
All proposals must be accompanied by a Bid Bond, Certified or Cashiers Check or a Bank Draft in an amount equal to at least 5 percent of the bid, payable without condition to the City of Elgin, Illinois, which sum shall be forfeited in case the successful bidder fails to enter into a binding contract and provide a properly executed contract surety bond within 15 days after the date the contract is awarded by the City Council.
Electronic copies of specifications, proposal, and contract pre-loaded on a CD may be obtained for a non-refundable fee of $10.00 from the Purchasing Department located at 150 Dexter Court, Elgin, Illinois 60120. Hard copies will be made available upon request for a non-refundable fee of $50. Receiving a paper copy may take up to 2 business days. A CD or hard copies can be sent 1st class mail for a fee of $15 or using the bidder’s FedEx account.
