If you would like assistance unrelated to an emergency, this non-emergency number will direct you to police or city personnel who may help with your needs. Crime tips may also be conveyed to the operator, who will provide the information to the appropriate officer(s), or refer you to the officer(s), directly.
Persons with information about a crime or the whereabouts of a wanted suspect should call the 24-hour confidential tip line at (847) 695-4195 and leave a message with the information that could assist the police with their investigations. The message on the Crime Line is in English and Spanish.
You do not have to leave your name. Line tips are held in the strictest confidence. However, it is helpful if you do leave your name and phone number in the event a detective needs additional information. Again, all information is confidential and no one will ever know that you called the police.
To report graffiti, call the Graffiti Hotline at (847) 931-5599.
