Administration is comprised of the Communications, Property Evidence, Records and Training divisions.
The Patrol Division encompasses four shifts, including Days, Afternoons, Midnights and a Fourth Watch.
Investigations is inclusive of adult and juvenile detectives, as well as gang and drug officers and detectives.
The Strategic Initiatives Division is composed of numerous units responsible for conducting outreach to enhance the relationship the police department has with the Elgin community.
