This free program aims to ensure children residing in Elgin Township mature into responsible citizens by creating a positive environment for youths to make informed and responsible decisions while challenging and supporting the development of life skills. This year, the program will be held at Larsen Middle School, located at 665 Dundee Ave., Elgin, Illinois.
Participants can expect to engage in the following type of activities if they so choose:
- Art
- Basketball
- Cooking
- Dodgeball
- Floor hockey
- Life skills lessons
- Movies
- Soccer
- Substance abuse prevention
- Swimming
- Food will be provided
Registration is required for this program and will remain open until June 5, 2023 or until the program is full.

Monday, June 12 - Tuesday, August 1
Ages: 4th graders through age 17
Monday thru Thursday only:
Grades 4 through 6 from 3 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Grades 7 through age 17 from 6:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.
During the School Year
Family-oriented events occur when school is in recess, not limited to spring break, Thanksgiving, and the Christmas holiday season. Prior to an event, information is mailed to registered Kids United participants. At that time, families will be advised as to the type of event, location, date, and time.
During the Summer Months
In cooperation with the Boys and Girls Club, Side Street Art Studio, Gail Borden Library, the Elgin Township, Northern Illinois Food Bank, and School District U-46, this program continues through the summer months, beginning June and running through August. Registration is required prior to participation; there is no cost for this service. On-site registration is available.
