Camps
The Centre of Elgin
The Parks and Recreation department offers a variety of camps of full-day camps, morning preschool camps and specialty camps. Our youth summer camps are perfect for working parents during all school breaks and summertime, the preschool discovery camps are a wonderful introduction to our program and the specialty camps are great enrichment programs filled with activities and creativity.
Youth Summer Camps
Summer Camp at The Centre is our traditional day camp featuring a variety of different activities including games, sports, crafts, swimming, weekly field trips, and more. Fees: $225R/$250NR *fees are per week.
Centre Sports Camp – Sports Camp will be at The Centre of Elgin. This camp offers a variety of different sports and games and include weekly field trips, swimming, and more! Fees: $225R/$250NR *fees are per week.
Camp Prairie View – Camp Prairie View is a traditional day camp held at Prairie View Grade School. Campers will take a field trip each week and swim at Wing Park Pool two days a week. Camp activities include arts and crafts, games, team building, sports and more! Fees: $225R/$250NR *fees are per week.

Climbing Wall Waiver – Must be completed to use the climbing wall at The Centre.
Camper Information Form– Must be completed before child can attend camp.
Specialty Camps
Snapology Camps – Join us as we build super-cool models that use gears, axles and pulleys. Work under guided instruction to build various models using LEGO® bricks. These camps are designed for children of all ages and building abilities to build together. Free-building time is included to promote creativity. Classes are limited to 20 attendees and are subject to minimum enrollment requirements. Invite your friends! Ages 5-12. The camp schedule and details will be available on our registration website beginning April 1st. Elgin Youth Choir Camp – The Elgin Youth Choir is dedicated to fostering the love of music through the pursuit of excellence from individual and ensemble discipline to teamwork and self expression. “We teach life through song”. The Elgin Youth Choir Summer-Camp provides a week long experience where students can grow musically in a fun and exciting environment along with a live performance at the conclusion of camp. Summer Horse Camp – Join the fun at Dunham Wood Farms! Campers will learn the proper way to groom, tack and handle horses as well as learning the basics of riding at the walk and trot. We will also learn about breeds, colors, markings and more. Games and other activities will be done as well! Camps are offered as a 2 day or 4 day camp experience. Preschool Camps
Discovery Camps – These 4 day camp sessions are geared to preschoolers, ages 3-5 years, ready to have fun! Each week will have a new and exciting theme and include arts, crafts, songs, stories, STEM activities and outdoor play. Come discover with us this summer! Safety Town Camp – This one week camp is perfect for children ages 4-6 years old. We will focus on lessons on pedestrian, fire, bicycle and water safety along with stranger danger. Using our replica town and mini bikes, children will role play and practice safety skills and behaviors.
