National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live. The National Night is held every year on the first Tuesday in August. This year's National Night Out is August 3, 2021.
The National Night Out is a great way to get to know your neighbors. If you host a party and register with the police department, City Officials, Police, Fire, and Mascots will show up at your party. Any Elgin resident can host a neighborhood NNO Party to get neighbors connected and strengthen their relationship with the police department. Statistics have shown that engaged and connected community members reduce crime in any community.
Hosting an event is simple, it could be a simple get-together as a meet and greet or a full-blown barbeque, what is important is bringing your neighborhood together.
