Holiday Cheers
Holiday Cheers: sips of the season is back for the second year in a row on November 26th in conjunction with Small Business Saturday! The City of Elgin is partnering with the Downtown Neighborhood Association to celebrate the Holly Days events. Event attendees are invited to stroll through downtown Elgin and enjoy holiday themed drinks while viewing holiday themed window murals provided by participating businesses. Two different holiday cups will be on offer and serve as your ticket for the event; each ticket purchased will come with a free kid's ticket to attend. Tree Lighting Ceremony
Residents and visitors gather at Festival Park's Splash Pad (132 S. Grove Avenue) to view the annual tree lighting ceremony where Mayor Kaptain, members of City Council, and Santa turn on the holiday tree lights. The 2022 Tree Lighting Ceremony is set to occur on November 26th at 5:00p.m.
Letters to Santa
Children who write a letter to Santa and drop it off in the mailbox located in front of the Edward Schock Centre of Elgin (100 Symphony Way, Elgin IL 60120) will receive a letter back from Santa himself! No postage (stamps) required, sealed envelope with return address needed to receive a response. Santa's mailbox will appear on November 11th and be removed on December 16th. All letters will be mailed by December 20th.
