Elgin’s White Elephant Tours – Elgin Public Museum

Every Saturday and Sunday in May, “Elgin’s White Elephant” Centennial Exhibit creator Joe Sarr and/or author of the 100th anniversary commemorative book of the same name, Education Coordinator Sharry Blazier, will be offering tours of the museum to talk about the building’s fascinating history, Neo-Classic architecture, exhibits past and present, and more! Standard admission of $2 adults/$1 kids 3-12/free under 3 and Museum Members applies, but there is no additional charge for the guided tour. Registration will be required, to keep group sizes Covid-compliant. Masks are mandatory inside the museum.
The museum is fully accessible for the mobility-challenged, including a wheelchair for in-museum use, and there are handicapped parking spaces and a ground-level entrance on the back (north) side.
