May is Elgin's Historic Preservation Month! As part of Gail Borden Public Library's special series on the topic, join Elgin's Heritage Commission Chair John Marston, who will provide an overview of the Commission and the city's historic rehabilitation grant program. Mr. Marston will explain what's involved in the grant process and how to apply for one, in order to preserve your historic property in Elgin. To illustrate the lecture, John will use before and after photos of recent rehabilitations funded by the grant program.
