6. This form is to request the Fire Department come out and install a smoke detector. The Fire Department will install one (1) ten (10) year battery operated smoke detector in a home. The Fire Department can only install smoke detectors in owner occupied residences. Additionally, the Fire Department does not install hard-wired smoke detectors. If you are looking for a detector to install on your own please contact the Fire Department at 847-931-6175 to see if we have any detectors available for pick-up.
